Punk Rock Holiday Adventure - Chapter 2, Day 3

A hike up the mountain and Punk Rock Holiday warm up show

This morning we decided to walk to the hotel we stayed at last year as we remembered they served excellent omelettes. The walk there was breathtaking taking us along tiny paths surrounded by mountains.

The ham and cheese omelette was just as good as I remember it being. It came with a basket of warm bread and a decent coffee. Last year when we were guests here we were also offered butter, jams and cheeses to accompany the bread to liven it up a bit.

After breakfast we crossed the bridge over Tolmin Gorge and made our way up the side of the mountain in search of a restaurant we'd discovered last year. It's quite a trek up a steep narrow pathway but the reward at the top and the stunning views on the way make it all worth the effort.

Letni Pr'jakcu restaurant is a welcome sight and the perfect spot to catch your breath and relax for an hour or so with a beer.

The views from here are stunning, in the distance you can see Tolmin down below.

As my wife reached for her sketchbook I reached for the menu. The homemade apple strudel served here is incredible, just had to order a slice.

Back at the campsite we gathered everything we needed for the warm up show and made our way to the Festival site.

Opening the night on the main stage was Multiball from Slovenia. Can't really remember too much about them though to be honest as all I could think about was food!

A chicken salad wrap stopped my mind from straying and set me up nicely for the night ahead.

Something I was really keen to do was to buy tickets for next years festival, more on this later though.

We wandered down to the beach stage area but it wasn't properly open until tomorrow.  I was actually feeling really knackered today and struggling to find the enthusiasm to get into the festival spirit! Next we caught a set by a band called Backstage and then explored the site for a bit.

Templeton Pek were excellent but after their set we decided to go back to the campsite and get some much needed sleep. I was hoping to return tomorrow with a much needed energy boost!
