Day 8 - A morning in Barcelona and the journey home
It was our final breakfast in Spain and this morning I found small chorizo sausages and some really nice ham. The yogurt drink was thick and refreshing so I returned for a second glass.
I decided to be a bit healthier by having some fruit, somehow this slice of cake ended up on the plate though..
I just had to have another one of these delicious muffins.
It was interesting looking around a Barcelona supermarket with its 1960's tiles, it was so big it covered two floors.
We were getting slightly lost and ended up at this delightful dead end inside a small shopping arcade.
We saw people eating this frozen yogurt so decided to try some. It was really nice with its hazelnut topping and so refreshing, I will definitely be trying this again! 10/10
As our holiday was reaching an end we arrived back at Barcelona airport.
I have always wanted to try an omlette sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. 7/10
This was a first, we were boarding a plane without there being a delay!
This was short lived though as the pilot announced that the auxiliary engine controlling the air con was not working and the air con would only start working once the main engines had started. Then he went on to say that due to a 50 minute delay the cabin may get very hot. It was an unbearable 50 minutes that got hotter and hotter!
Once up in the air things cooled down again and Barcelona could be seen down below.
It had been an excellent 8 days of music, vodka, food and Gaudi, only 50 weeks till we do it all over again!
Great!
